Operation Red Dawn

Postby JoplinAdmin » Wed Jan 13, 2010 2:59 pm

JTAG will be hosting a Red Dawn game in March or April. We are currently looking at March 20th, or April 10th. This game WILL cost money. We are looking at a $15 pre-registration fee or $20 at the gate. We will plan on March 20th for first option and with a backup (for weather) on April 10th. All players will be required to have a dead rag (either red or orange). More information will be released soon, the registration will begin at 0830 with game commencing no later than 0930. The game will end at 1700. Keep close eye out for pre-registration information and a flyer (most likely to be released this week).

If I get some reported interest from some of you Springfield players, I will keep you updated as information comes.
This is a special honor, as we are not inviting all teams. This is a semi-private invitation for Springfield/SoGo players.

I will help spread the word. I will copy and paste your thread on Springfield Airsoft also. (if you haven't already done so)

Thanks,
Jon

We have 5 missions/scenarios set up for this OP. All coordinated with movie scenes. I prefer not to give out to much information at this point, but more will be coming as we start getting closer to the finalized date. All I can tell you right now is that we are planning the OP to align very closely to the movie; and missions that would transfer to Airsoft from the movie.

There will be a point and money system that promises to be quite challenging and fun for both sides, and all of the missions have side "bonuses" or extra objectives to make it all the more fun.

We are aware that most of the Red Dawn OPS put on, have a hard time making it fair for the Wolverines. Since the wolverines must lose in game play, we have come up with a way for us to follow the movie and have the Wolverines lose in game play, but have a chance to actually win with our newly developed point system. Our game planners have worked hard on this to create the best scenarios that promise to play out close to the movie and create a balanced challenge for both sides.

I'll see if I can be there, but that's still a good month ahead. I'll just have to wait and see

Thanks

NEWS FLASH:
Here is a brief summary of the missions. This is gameplay only, no story line as the story line is based on the movie and therefore self-explanitory. Any objectives listed will be primary objectives, although most missions have secondary objectives and bonuses, these will be kept as a suprise until game day.

MISSION 1: Run Forest, RUN!
The "Wolverines" will be sitting in a area minding their own business. They will be allowed minimal ammo and pistols only. The Communist team will approach at their leisure. As soon as the Wolverines spot the first communist they will run for their vehicle. They will load up the vehicle and try to escape to their forest base. They will try to have no casualties. The communists must try to kill them all.

MISSION 2: The Long Line
The communist will be moving their armored column along a road. They must simply get their forces from point A to point B. The wolverines will set up ambush along the way. Watch out for IED's.

MISSION 3: The Falling Star
The wolverines (after mission 2) will imediately start searching for a downed pilot, rescue him, and return him to their base. (Location TBA) The communists must find the pilot themselves, "rescue" him, return him to their base, and hold him there for 20 min.

MISSION 4: Prison Break
The Communist will be holding two future wolverines in their grasp. The Wolverines must remove the prisoners one at a time and return them to their base. Every prisoner they rescue adds another member to their team. The communists will need to hold off the Wolverines for over an hour, so be sure to conserve that ammo!

MISSION 5: The End Of Days
The Wolverines will be sent to kill the Communist VIP. The communist must be on the lookout for the Wolverine and their craftiness. The Wolverines must also escape. Communists decide how to split your forces, for the fate of the battle rest in your hands.

Each of these missions (as mentioned) is more complicated and each have their own set of rules! Be sure to show up to take part in the best Red Dawn simulation this area has ever seen! Get registered ASAP as pre-registration discount ends on March 6th, and Red Dawn is right around the corner on March 20th.

P.S. Missions, mission order, obejectives, rules, etc. are subject to change at the committees discretion.
